It does what its supposed to. Temps products accurately without touching it. Backlight or not. F or C. Can change the visible laser size Easy to calibrate. Easy to use. Rugged enough to survive the occasional drop onto concrete.

I use it to check dye bath temperatures, works great for that.

I've only had it a couple of weeks but I think it works pretty good.

For the money this Temp gun is great. Battery has been fine and it works like a charm.

I originally bought this to keep an eye on my oven, because it seems to run very hot at times, over a certain degree. Once the thermometer came in, I ended up using this infrared thermometer way more than I expected. I tested it on my fridge, freezer, stove, AC vent, glass, metal, water, food, and even around the house just out of curiosity. I was really surprised by some of the readings, like my lizard being 77° 🤷‍♀️And... my oven is running hot.⏱️ Speed & use:You can get a quick instant reading with a short trigger press, or hold it down for continuous real-time temperature updates. That ended up being really useful when watching temps change.🎯 Accuracy & consistency:For the most part, testing the same object from the same distance gave consistent readings. There’s also a max/min/average feature that tracks your readings, which is helpful—but I do wish that display could be turned off. The current temp display is shown above the secondary display, so there's two sets of numbers at once.📏 Distance matters:You need to stay consistent with how far you hold it. I found about 3 inches works best. Have wanted the Infrared Thermometer for some time and it works great. Price for the two items was attractive and I purchased the package. The Meat Thermometer has one feature I don't like in that it switches from C to F readings every time you use it. Would like the option to stay on one system but the unit does not allow this to occur.
