Practical, dependable, and built for daily cooking.
WHO IT'S BEST FOR
Best For:
For the everyday home cook who just wants dinner to turn out right: Chicken in the oven, pork chops in the air fryer, steak on the grill. Stick in the probe, check the app, pull when it tells you. No experience needed.
For casual grillers who are tired of hovering over the heat: 500ft Bluetooth range means you stay inside with guests, keep an eye on the kids or just relax while it tracks your ribs, brisket, or rotisserie chicken. Alert when it's ready.
For anyone looking for a solid first BBQ thermometer: Works across grills, ovens, smokers, and air fryers. Choose your protein in the app and it walks you through the rest. Built-in magnet keeps it within reach. A genuinely useful gift.
Not Ideal For:
Anyone who wants to check temps without picking up their phone: TP960 is fully app-based. For a quick glance without unlocking your phone, the TP971 has an LCD booster screen right next to the grill.
Cooks who regularly smoke or grill at very high ambient temperatures: TP960 handles ambient temps up to 572°F at the probe handle. For high-heat sears or very hot smokers, the TP970 or TP972 withstands up to 1050°F for ambient temps.
Cooks seeking professional-grade measurement accuracy: While the TP960 series offers trusted accuracy of ±1.8˚F (±1.0˚C) for standard kitchen use, recipes where a single degree changes the outcome need pro-level tools. For competition BBQ or extreme accuracy needs, consider the TP972, TP971, or TP980, which deliver advanced temperature accuracy of ±0.5˚F (±0.1˚C).
