I never knew wireless meat thermometers existed until this was recommended to me. Now I reach for it whenever I'm about to use the oven or grill. Set up was very easy right out of the box, and I haven't had an issue with the bluetooth signal. The app is straightforward, and I like that it displays both the meat temperature and ambient temperature. (Although the ambient temperature is sometimes a few degrees off) An alarm will sound whenever the meat is close to the target temperature, so I can step away while it cooks. Be aware, the alarm is LOUD but it can be silenced by a quick press of a button on the booster. Finally, the simple design makes cleaning and putting away after use very easy. Very happy I got this and just in time for Thanksgiving!
This product free me from waiting in front of the oven, and the wireless design allows me to know the temperature without having to open the oven frequently to check the status of the meat, and without removing the foil to check the food. Even if my oven is in the backyard, the temperature is accurately reflected on my app from a door and two walls. There is also an automatic alarm when the temperature is too high, finally I dont have to worry about the meat being dry! Btw the setting on the app is easy too. Totally worth it.
This thing is amazing. Literally the only downside is that it doesn't last more than 12 hours on a single charge. This will make it tricky for briskets and pork butt. But don't let that deter you! This thing is awesome. Ambient temp is within a few degrees of the wired one I was using. Internal temp is perfectly accurate compared to two others. This thing is great. Better range than my others as well.
This thermometer is a must have for smoking meat. Simply download the app to your phone or other smart device, place the probe into the center of whatever youre cooking, throw it in the cooker and walk away! Its that simple! First day. So far so good. I aimed for chicken breast155-160 and got it. I confirmed using a Thermapen once out of oven. The real test is if this product will still work two years later.
I've used it a few times now. The battery life is good. It is accurate, I compared with my analog thermometer. App works great, no glitching or anything.
I've been using this Temp Spike for a couple of months now and find it pretty good, except the probe is quite large and it's required to insert it several inches to have it operate properly. The battery usually needs to be recharged prior to use...remember to do that. Also, and a bummer, it won't work in my new Traeger smoker...the Traeger apparently has too thick of a steel surrounding for the Bluetooth signal to penetrate. The Temp Spike works great in the kitchen oven and the app is fairly straightforward. Maybe the newer, more expensive, model is better??? OK, now that I've read the manual I see that you're supposed to place the booster near the TempSpike to increase the Bluetooth signal. I fully charged the spike and booster and it now works in my Traeger. RTFM!

This is the handiest little gadget that I ever had works great and this thing cooks food to perfection.Don't know how I lived so long without it, highly recommend this. P.S.I use this thing all the time in the barbecue. In the oven even in the toaster oven, it's just great.Best Turkey I ever cooked at Thanksgiving time.
Great but not 500 ft
After the first time I used this, I stored it in a drawer unplugged with the spike in the cradle. When I went to use it after sitting for about a month or so, the spike battery was dead. I recharged it and was back up to 100% after about an hour or so…..I guess you have to leave it plugged into the USB charger or remember to take it out well in advance to recharge the spike,I have used this a couple of times now with excellent results, 17lb turkey came out perfect and was set for 165……The ambient temp however appears to be reporting low. I had the oven at 450 for the first hour and it never went over 375. Then turned the oven down to 325 and it reported 285. Sent an email to customer support about the spike battery and have not heard back.Update: Received a response about a week later and they offered some support and a full replacement if needed,
I bought this in replace of the meater product. I get a really good connection, excellent range, and accurate readings. But I highly recommend taking care of the probe. If it's submerged in water too long, or damaged during cleaning - the probe will fail. Just wipe it clean and put away immediately after use.
Being able to know the ambient temp compared to internal temp has been in lightning. I’ve done barbecue over 20 years just off smoke box guage. I know where the hotspots are, but it’s nice to know the exact temps. And the obvious benefits of being able to monitor those temps through a phone app.

Probe cracked in just over a year. Maybe used a handful of times. Wouldn’t buy again.Update: apparently these have a 3 year warranty. Was very easy to get a replacement. Can’t give it 5 stars because it barely lasted a year.

This is my first bluetooth meat probe. It is very accurate and easy to use. For the price it is worth it.One word of warning, do not use this in temperatures over 500. This is annotated in the instructions, I can't remember the exact temp you can't go over but it's there. I accidently went over it and customer service worked out a deal for me.I've been smoking meat for a while and the quality is worth it. It's accurate at reading temperature and the alarm is worth it. Right now, I am currently using it to smoke my first brisket and the magnet allows me to hang it right on my smoker and still get a good reading.

It only connects to the phone about 60 feet will not work through my shop wall, which is metal other than that. It makes a really nice piece of meat.
