I bought this since last pool season I got tired of having to actually get dressed, put shoes on and walk outside first thing in the morning just to check the temperature on our floating pool thermometer to decide whether I personally wanted to get in the pool that day. Sometimes I had to fish the floating thermometer out using my skimmer net. It was a headache.This has honestly been such a simple but convenient upgrade for our pool setup.I keep the display magnetically attached to the side of my dishwasher right next to the kitchen window, and it’s incredibly easy to glance at it throughout the day. The display is very easy to read, and I’ve actually found the comfortability index surprisingly accurate for predicting whether my husband is willing to get in the pool or not.Setup was extremely simple. It basically only took the amount of time needed to install the included batteries. The floating thermometer itself is also pretty compact. It’s smaller than our chlorine floater so it doesn’t get in the way while swimming or bother the kids at all.Another thing I appreciate is the flexibility of the indoor display. You can mount it, stand it up on the counter, or use the built-in magnet. For my personal setup the magnet has definitely been the most convenient option.We’ve been using ours since mid-April, and both the display and thermometer are still running on the original included AAA batteries. This is an excellent tool if you have a hot tub outside and need to know the temp before and during its warm up. The battery life has been pretty good and communication with the thermometer has been excellent 15’ ft away. Would recommend for pool or hot tub !

Works amazing! We have the monitor in our living room and the thermometer about 50ft away in our pool!! Accurate temperatures too!

Awesome!!! I genuinely LOVE this thermometer. Im in a wheelchair right now so being able to just roll my wheelchair over and check the temperature of the pool. Its fantastic and worth the money! It is magnetic so I have it on my refrigerator.

I've only been using this wireless pool thermometer for a week or so, but I can say I'm pleased with it's accuracy and value for the cost, so far. Having the magnetic readout on my refrigerator makes checking the pool water temperature easy. I like the fact that it also displays the inside temp as well.

This is a really solid wireless pool thermometer. It is certainly an upgrade to the older ones. My older one lasted only two years. The battery was located in the bottom of the pool float. Over time, water got in through the screw top. Plus, the receiver had a clock with an alarm setting, which was a pain. I don't need another clock in the house. :) The wireless controller and float were as easy as 1, 2, 3 to set up. Just install the included batteries and away you go. The float automatically synced with the receiver to display the water temperature. The units took approximately 15 minutes to adjust to the correct temperature. I can watch the water temp change as the sun rises and sets. I can appreciate the construction of the pool float over the last unit. The battery compartment has a rubber gasket as well as the screw top. I am guessing that it will last many years. I will update this review if anything changes. The display has a few easy, self-explanatory buttons. I guess the two buttons, the CH/SYNC and the F/C buttons, are the most important for me. It synced right up with the pool thermometer to CH1. I guess this is helpful if you have another unit for a hot tub or another area of the pool that you would like to know the temperature of. It defaulted to Fahrenheit, so no adjustment was needed there. The display and the float are no more than 250' apart. So far no issues communicating from the float to the display. The display has the temperature and humidity of the location where it is kept. I keep mine in the room that leads to the pool for easy reference. It also displays three levels: Hot / Comfort / Cool. Either way, I am going swimming in a cold pool, especially after working around the yard. It is a well built wireless pool thermometer. Enjoy.

So, my original review was a two star. The transmitter that goes in the pool lasted maybe a week before the screen filled with water and I could no longer read it. I sent ThermaPro an email on their website and they sent me out a brand new one. While it was in the process of shipping, I took a part the old transmitter, let it dry out for a few days and put it all back together. This time a little tighter with everything. I did notice that a lot of the screws were very loose when I first took it all apart. After putting it back together, I put it back in my pool and it has worked great since. One thing I did different was I tied it to a pole next to my pool so it will always stay in the sun. I think that helps. So, I’m happy overall now with this purchase.

It was good while it lasted. Less than two months and the remote unit has leaked water in and died. Hugely disappointing. 2 weeks past the return window.*edit* Boosted stars up to 5 for swift customer service. I sent a warrantee support request at 6 PM (PST) Within 30 minutes I had a response confirming my shipping address. New unit arrived and is working well so far.

The range is amazing. The display for the pool temp is easy over in the kitchen so you can see it inside, but there's also a good display on the thermometer itself which is also good. It's well made and we'll sealed off from getting positive inside.

Nice product that works well. Unfortunately it flows into my skimmer all the time. If it was a bit larger and longer that would not happen for my pool. Easy to put together and the temperature is very readable on the device and Bluetooth panel.

The impeller took a crap on my inflatable Coleman saluspa but this device keeps reporting temps like a champ. I use it to monitor indoor temp and humidity still. That was handy when I thought my house was getting warm and muggy and sure enough coils on the AC were freezing up.

This a great little device and pretty accurate too. I like that the floatation displays the temperature and that this was not overlooked. So if you're in the pool you can just look at it to see the pool water temp. I also like that it has a separate display panel complete with outdoor temp and humidity and of course pool water temp. The display has pretty good range too, we use ours in our kitchen window where the pool is right outside from there.Here's a tip, although it does come with batteries, if you use lithium batteries (they do cost substantially more), you'll get a lot more continuous up-time with it. These are the same batteries that are used in most wireless outdoor cameras.Overall I like this and do recommend it.

I always worry about my swim spot and now I don't have to. I'm in Minnesota and swim all winter. Heaters can go out and ruin the pool. I keep the monitor in the kitchen to keep an eye on it.

This floating pool thermometer is excellent as it provides a large and easy-to-read digital temperature. No more having to dig down in the water to fish out our old fashioned thermometer.

We live in Houston, so we seldom heat the pool in season, but it's nice to know the temperature before deciding to go for a swim. This device works very well, and it's quite a distance from the pool.

The thermometer seems well made and comes with its own batteries, so it had everything needed to get set-up. For our application, the water thermometer was placed in our pond which is about 400 feet from our house. The indoor unit was placed in our sunroom near the windows on the pond side of our house.Even at this distance, the indoor unit is able to pick up the signal from the water unit. This has been true in all weather conditions (no apparent loss of signal at this rain even in heavy rain). The water unit was placed in a shady section of the pond and has been operating in the pond for around 3 weeks without issues. The indoor temperature measurement and humidity measurements seem accurate but the water temperature seems like it might be running a few degrees warmer than anticipated. That being said, I do not have a second known thermometer to verify this, so it may be dead-on. The justification for the measurement being slightly high comes from the measured temperature being close to the outdoor daytime high, rather than closer to the average day/night temperature and also from the subjective measure by sticking my hand into the pond's water. If it is off, it is only by a few degrees (maybe 5F), so it is good enough if you are trying to determine if your pool/pond will be comfortable for swimming.Overall, the unit has a good range and seems to work well, even in pond water. The indoor unit has a magnetic back, can be hung using a screw/nail, or stood up using the backing prop arm.

I use this for my cold plunge barrel, and it's very accurate. I've used it to confirm my chest freezer gets down to -15. I love that the display station has a backlight. I am also into the fact that the probe shows the temperature on it - so I can watch the temp creep up as I sit in the cold water.

Excellent pool thermometer!Pros- We live in an underground home with the receiver located 150 feet from the transmitter. We selected this product because of the extended range. The antenna works well as long as it is not covered by the solar blanket which pushed the exposed antenna under water. We love knowing when we can still enjoy the pool in these late summer/early fall days. My wife likes to top off her tan while I enjoy swimming at night with floating pool lights and speakers.Con- Would have preferred the receiver display outside temperature instead of indoor temp/humidity. Instructions might have been clearer… difficult to follow.

I previously had a floating thermometer to measure lake temperature but had to be right over it to read it. This remote thermometer works great at over 200 ft from the lake, through the trees, plants, brick wall and interior walls of the house. I was amazed that the signal could pass all those obstacles.
